Rhino XXX 12000 is a herbal dietary supplement supplied as one green 1150 mg capsule sealed on a single gold Special Edition blister card. The proprietary blend names East Asian botanicals including Panax ginseng, cordyceps, kudzu and licorice. Distributed by E Trading, made in the U.S.A.

What this product is

Rhino XXX 12000 is a herbal dietary supplement sold as one capsule sealed on a single blister card. The panel on the reverse gives the serving size as 1 capsule at 1150 mg. The card is a gold and silver "Special Edition" design carrying the 12000 designation, and the capsule sits in a clear blister window on the front, where it reads bright green. It is distributed by E Trading and the back of the card states it is made in the U.S.A.

Buying a formula one capsule at a time is a different proposition from committing to a bottle, and that is the whole argument for this format: a sealed single card costs little, stores flat in a drawer, and lets you read the panel of a range before you invest in a multi-count pack of it. The other cards and bottles in the line are shelved together under Rhino Products.

What the panel names

The contents are published as a proprietary blend, which means every botanical is named but not one of them carries an individual milligram figure. The panel does print a proprietary raw material figure of 850 inside the 1150 mg serving, and it prints that number with no unit beside it — so no unit is supplied here either. Two entries in the printed list, "Proprietary Formula" and a second occurrence of "Dismutase", are reproduced in the table below exactly as the card sets them out and are not interpreted.

What stands out about this formula is its provenance. It is built almost wholly from the classical East Asian materia medica rather than from the amino acids, maca and vitamin premixes that dominate this shelf. Panax Ginseng anchors it — a slow-growing root that takes four to six years in the ground before harvest, farmed across Korea and north-eastern China and one of the most thoroughly catalogued plants in the herbal world. Beside it sits Cordyceps Sinensis, a fungus native to the high grasslands of the Tibetan plateau, historically gathered by hand at altitude and now grown commercially on substrate instead.

The roots continue with Dang Gui (printed on this card as "Dand Gui"), which is the root of Angelica sinensis, a tall umbellifer related to celery and carrot; Pueraria Lobata, the kudzu vine, whose heavy starchy root is dug from a climber notorious for overrunning the American South; Atractylodes, a rhizome from a thistle-like member of the daisy family; and Licorice, the root of Glycyrrhiza glabra, the same plant behind traditional confectionery. Deng Sen Extract comes from codonopsis root, used in traditional formulas as a milder counterpart to ginseng.

Three of the entries are fruits or seeds. Cornus is the small, tart, dried berry of the Asiatic dogwood. Rubus is the genus that also gives us raspberries and blackberries. Cuscuta — the card prints "Cussuta" — is the seed of dodder, a leafless parasitic vine that grows draped in orange threads over whatever it finds. Rounding the list out are Cinnamon Bark, the dried inner bark of Cinnamomum trees and the identical spice sold for baking, and Superoxide Dismutase, an enzyme that occurs naturally in human cells and in a great many ordinary foods.

For background on the plants themselves rather than on this product, the NCCIH maintains a page on Asian ginseng and one on licorice root; the licorice page is the one to read if you take medication regularly, since it details known interactions. The NIH Office of Dietary Supplements sets out what botanical dietary supplements are and how they are assembled, and the FDA explains how dietary supplements are regulated in the United States.

Everything in that table is transcribed from the card. Where the manufacturer omitted a figure, it is omitted here rather than estimated.

Label directions

The card sets a firm ceiling: not more than one capsule in any 60-hour window. That line is printed in the caution block on the back, and it is the one to take in before anything else on the packaging. The usage text asks you to take a single capsule one hour ahead, and to leave an hour between this capsule and any other supplement or medication you use.

One further instruction is printed with an asterisk of its own, directly beneath the usage text: do not mix this product with alcohol. Storage is simple — keep the card somewhere cool and dry. The packaging also asks you not to accept the item if the seal is broken or missing, so check the blister over before you open it.

Who it suits

This is an adults-only product, intended for buyers over 18 browsing herbal formulas in Supplements for Men who want a single serving rather than a container. It suits someone sampling this range for the first time, or simply keeping one sealed capsule to hand.

It is not suitable for anyone under 18, and it is not a replacement for advice from a clinician. If you take prescription medication of any kind — nitrates in particular — or you have a heart condition, speak to a licensed healthcare professional before using anything in this category.

Safety notes from the packaging

The caution block asks you to consult a physician if you have heart problems, to stop using the product immediately if undesirable effects develop, and to keep it out of the reach of children. Those are the manufacturer's own words as printed, and they deserve to be read literally rather than skimmed.

Herbal formulas sit differently with different people according to age, body size, diet and general health, so individual experience varies from person to person. If you have a food allergy or a known sensitivity to any plant named above, read the list through first. We are not the manufacturer of this product. No California Proposition 65 warning appears on this packaging, so none is reproduced here.

Shipping, packaging and returns

Orders go out in plain packaging with nothing on the outside to indicate the contents, sent under a neutral business name rather than CaliPills, and your card statement shows that same generic name. Orders leave us by the next business day, and an expedited option is available at checkout. Product photographs are illustrative. Packaging, lot codes and printed dates vary between shipments. If the item turns out not to suit you, our return policy sets out what happens next.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many capsules come on the card?

One. This listing is a single 1150 mg capsule sealed on one blister card, which is what makes it a 1 count item rather than a bottle.

What colour is the capsule?

Green. It is visible through the clear blister window on the front of the card, and the green colouring is what distinguishes this card from the other numbered designs in the Rhino XXX range.

What dosing interval does the label state?

Not more than one capsule in any 60-hour window, printed in the caution block on the reverse. The usage text separately asks you to take the capsule an hour ahead and to space it an hour apart from any other supplement or medication.

Does the panel give a milligram amount for each botanical?

No. The botanicals are named collectively as a proprietary blend with no individual figures. The panel publishes a 1150 mg serving size and a proprietary raw material figure of 850, and states that a daily value has not been established.

Does the label say anything about alcohol?

Yes. The card states plainly that this product should not be mixed with alcohol, printed as a separate asterisked line under the usage instructions on the back panel.

How will my order arrive?

Discreetly. The outer packaging is plain, carries no description of the contents, and ships from a neutral business name, and that same generic name is what appears on your card statement.

These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Dietary supplement for adults 18 and over. Consult a licensed healthcare professional before use, especially if you have a medical condition, heart concerns, or take prescription medication (including nitrates). Keep out of reach of children.
