Monkey Green is a men's herbal dietary supplement supplied as one tablet on a single blister card. Its proprietary blend lists Deng Sen extract, atractylodes, cinnamon bark, cuscuta, Dang Gui, vitamin B12, Panax ginseng, rubus and Pueraria lobata. For adults 18 and over.

What Monkey Green is

Monkey Green is a men's herbal dietary supplement supplied as one tablet sealed on a single blister card. The front of the card is printed in bright green and carries painted monkey artwork, with the tablet itself visible through the clear blister dome in a pale mint-green shade. The reverse carries the Supplement Facts panel, the directions, the caution text and the barcode. The card is marked MADE IN USA and carries the Kangaroo brand mark alongside a smaller distributor mark. It is listed here in our Supplements for Men range.

Every figure, ingredient name and instruction below has been transcribed from the printed card itself rather than copied from a supplier sheet. Where the card is silent, this page stays silent too.

What is inside

The panel declares a single proprietary herbal blend rather than a set of individually dosed ingredients, so the card gives one blend figure and then names the botanicals that make it up. Here is what those names refer to.

  • Deng Sen extract. Printed first on the panel, this is a root extract whose name comes from traditional Chinese herbal nomenclature, where root preparations of this type have a long history in tonic formulas.
  • Atractylodes. A rhizome from a group of plants in the daisy family. Dried and sliced atractylodes rhizome is one of the more common components of classical Chinese herbal mixtures.
  • Cinnamon bark. The dried inner bark of Cinnamomum trees — the same aromatic spice found in any kitchen cupboard, used here in powdered or extracted form.
  • Cuscuta. Known in English as dodder, a slender climbing vine. It is the seed that is used in herbal preparations rather than the stem.
  • Dang Gui. The root of Angelica sinensis, a member of the carrot and celery family, and among the most widely used roots in Chinese herbal practice.
  • Vitamin B12. A water-soluble vitamin that occurs naturally in meat, fish, eggs and dairy, and one that is added to a great many supplement formulas. The NIH Office of Dietary Supplements fact sheet on vitamin B12 gives general background on it.
  • Panax ginseng. The fleshy root of a slow-growing perennial cultivated mainly in Korea and north-east China; a plant spends several years in the ground before harvest. The NCCIH page on Asian ginseng describes the plant and its traditional uses.
  • Rubus. The botanical genus that covers raspberries, blackberries and their many relatives. In herbal formulas it is normally the dried fruit that appears.
  • Superoxide dismutase. An enzyme that occurs naturally in living cells. The panel prints both "Dismutase" and "Superoxide dismutase" in its ingredient list.
  • Pueraria lobata. Better known as kudzu, a fast-growing climbing vine native to East Asia whose starchy root is the part used.

Because the card declares one combined blend, no per-ingredient milligram figure is printed for any of the botanicals above, and none should be inferred. The NIH overview of botanical dietary supplements explains how proprietary blends are declared on labels generally.

The blend row is reproduced exactly as the card prints it. No unit of measure appears beside the figure on the panel, so none has been added here.

How to use it

The card directs one tablet taken thirty minutes ahead of time. That is the whole of the dosing instruction printed on the panel.

The caution line sets a firm ceiling: no more than one tablet every 48 hours. The card also states plainly that the product should not be taken by anyone with a serious health condition, by anyone already taking other supplements or medications, or by anyone with a heart condition or high blood pressure.

No storage instruction is printed on this card. As with any herbal supplement, a cool, dry cupboard away from direct sunlight is sensible, and the tablet is best left sealed in its blister until it is used.

Who it is for

This is an adult product, sold to men aged 18 and over. The single-tablet card is a compact format: one sealed blister that fits in a bag or a drawer rather than a bottle that has to live on a shelf, which suits someone trying the formula for the first time or keeping just one on hand.

It is not suitable for anyone in the groups excluded by the card's own caution text. If you would rather have a formula that declares an amount for every ingredient instead of a single proprietary blend, browse the wider Supplements range, where panel structures vary considerably from brand to brand.

Good to know

The card's own warnings are the ones that matter most, and they are reproduced here rather than paraphrased away. Do not take this product if you have any serious health condition. Do not take it if you are taking any other supplements or medications. Do not take it if you have a heart condition or high blood pressure. Those three lines are the complete caution text printed on the panel.

As a matter of store policy and common sense, keep this and every supplement out of the reach of children, and do not use it if you are under 18.

Herbal supplements are not reviewed by any agency before they go on sale, and interactions with prescription medication are a genuine consideration rather than a formality. The NCCIH page on dietary and herbal supplements sets out what that regulatory position means for a shopper. Speak to a licensed healthcare professional before starting any supplement, particularly if you take prescription medicine of any kind.

No California Proposition 65 warning is printed on this card.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many tablets are on this card?

One. This listing is a single tablet sealed on one blister card, and that tablet is visible through the clear dome on the front of the card.

Is Monkey Green a tablet or a capsule?

It is a tablet. The Supplement Facts panel gives the serving size as "1 Tablet" and the directions refer to a tablet throughout, so there is no gelatin capsule shell involved.

Does the panel give a milligram amount for each ingredient?

No. The card declares one proprietary blend covering all of the listed botanicals, with a single figure for the blend as a whole and the standard footnote that a Daily Value has not been established. Individual ingredient amounts are not disclosed.

How often can it be taken?

No more than one tablet every 48 hours, which is the ceiling printed in the caution line on the back of the card. The card gives no instruction for taking more than one.

How is this order packaged for delivery?

Orders ship in plain, unbranded outer packaging with no product imagery and nothing on the outside describing the contents. Billing descriptors are discreet as well. Product photographs are illustrative. Packaging, lot codes and printed dates vary between shipments.

These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Dietary supplement for adults 18 and over.
